Celts,
The year 2009 has been challenging but we managed to continue to follow our path and increased player numbers and team quality.
The first team has raised its level, and a under 16 team was been established which already provided first players to the U18 National team squad. Furthermore the Celtic Wanderers have been introduced to give beginners the chance to gain experience in playing in the Austrian 2nd division.Our veterans got a game against a touring side from England and indeed did well in getting the old boys together for a brilliant first, second and third half.
Looking forward to 2010 there is still plenty of work to be done.
The Celtic Wanderers will continue to get as many games as possible and we are looking forward to put them on tour so they learn more about the social part of the club. Player numbers have to be increased and training attendance has to improve. In the Juniors we will work on getting more players joining the U16 team and on establishing partnership programs with schools.
The girls will stay in the Celtic / Donau mixed team RC Schönbrunn.
We are working on a veterans game to get some of the old bones the chance to get on the pitch again in spring.
