Am 19.09.09 ging es um 07°° von Schönbrunn aus los, um das Auftaktspiel der 7er Saison in Innsbruck zu starten. Da einer unserer Spieler berufsbedingt bereits in Tirol war, konnten sich die restlichen 9 gemütlich auf 2 Autos ausbreiten. Unser Team bestand aus Bernhard Fürnkranz, Marcel Simoner, Antonio de Vall, Matt Galagher, Zia Tompkins, Patrick (Padde) Mester, Martin Barret, Ingobert Könczöl, Chris Lynton-Evans, Lee Zeinzinger. Leider konnten 3 wichtige7s Spieler wie der Ocativian, der Mushegh und der Big Ben die Reise nach Innsbruck nicht antreten, da diese Uni- und Berufsbedingt ausfielen..... |

Vienna Celtic RFC visits Mars Austria Sales meeting |

On August 20th the Vienna Celtic RFC visited the annual sales meeting of mars Austria. Invited as suprise guest, the players of the club stormed into the meeting room at the end of a long and hard day of internal meetings to invite the regional sales teams of Mars Austria to join a try out session of Rugby. After some time to get changed we explained the rules of Rugby and introduced the club and their players. We held a joined training session, giving all employees the chance to try out some Rugby. The session was started with some basic exersices (passing, tackling,...) and then continued with some touch rugby. At the end we mixed "Celts" and "Mars's" and played some games of touch rugby. After the session we headed on to the social part of the evening... As Mars Austria is a major supporter of the Vienna Celtic RFC it ws very important to the club to use the chance to give something back and to learn more about the people at Mars Austria and their company philosophy. We would like to thank Gottfried Hündler and Raffaela Neuwirth for their hospitality, it was a great event, we'll rember it for a long time and the Vienna Celtic RFC is looking forward to a long and successful parntership!
