 25 bis in die Haarspitzen motivierte Kelten fuhren am Samstag dem 06.06.09 gegen High Noon vom sonnigen Wien nach Traun los, um im letzten Auswärtsspiel einer doch durchwachsenen Saison gegen die Männer vom 1.ORSC anzutreten. Bereits im Abschlusstraining am Donnerstag in Schönbrunn war der Siegeswille und die Motivation spürbar und so wurde auch das Missionsziel für Samstag durch die Coaches und unseren Kapitän klar formuliert „Siegen um jeden Preis und ein jeder gibt 100% Leistung“ .....

This Thursday (21 May 2009) Vienna Celtic take on rivals RC Donau as part of the Austrian Powerade League. Predicted to be the hottest day of the year in Vienna this year, our boys will be turning up the heat even more when they throw all they have up against Donau. Not only will our First XV be playing but the match will be followed by a B team game against Donau B, So it will be a really entertaining Thursday afternoon and if we're luck we might have a couple of surprises coming our way. We invite you and your family or friends to come join us for this fun packed afternoon and cheer our boys to a hopefull victory. On Saturday (23 May 2009) Vienna Celtic will be taking place in the Austrian Sevens Rugby Tournament to be played in Krems.The following 12 teams will be attending the tournament: Nationalteam 7's Selection, RC GRAZ, 1. ORSC LINZ, RCV 100, Kärnten, RC Krems, RC Donau, Celtic RFC, RC Goldbet Innsbruck, Wombats Wr. Neustadt, RC Stade,ARC Leoben. Making it a good display of Austrian talent and development. should you be in the near please drop by and come and support our team. Beverages and Barbeque will be sold at the venue.  The Powerade continues this weekend with Donau taking on Innsbruck in Innsbruck, this will surely be one of the most spectacular games of the season, meanwhile back in Vienna the Celts are building up their spirits to take on Stade Viennois.
The last meeting between the two teams going back 3 weeks saw Celtic run over Stade however Stade was missing many key players, making this weeks match pretty unpredictable .. WELL this Saturday will be the real show having Stade and Celtic bring out all their big guns to fight for their positions in the league.... On May 2nd Vienna Celtic hosted the Westcliff RFC at Dirnelwiese. Westcliff RFC is one of the largest amateur sports club in Essex having more than 600 club members. The Westcliff team was built from various teams, using players from Westcliffs first, second, third and fourth team. The travellers stayed in Bratislava and came just for the game to vienna. As our visitors had a very succesful season, it was clear that Vienna Celtic would face a serious challenge. The home team put together a mix of its first and second team. The englishmen were a strong physical team using players from age 18 to 50 years plus. With kick off our guests showed a very strong and effective forwards game, using the physical advantages of their pack. |
